NBCC developed and owns both the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE), which are used for licensure in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories of Puerto Rico and Guam.
NBCC's affiliate organization the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) administers the examinations on NBCC's behalf. State licensure application processes vary by state. Visit our State Board Directory and click on the state in which you are seeking licensure to find the state contact information, available licenses and required examinations for that state.
Create or log in to your Credentialing Gateway account by clicking the button below to begin the process. Once registered, you will receive an email from Pearson VUE, our exam site host, with information about scheduling your exam.
